Sifo-Dyas was a Jedi Master who served on the Jedi High Council during the era of the Galactic Republic. He possessed the rare Force ability of prescience, allowing him to glimpse potential futures.
Concerned by his visions of a galaxy-wide conflict, Sifo-Dyas took it upon himself to secretly commission the creation of a clone army on Kamino. He believed this army would be essential to protect the Republic from the growing darkness he foresaw.
However, Sifo-Dyas was betrayed and murdered before his plan could come to fruition. His vision was twisted and manipulated by Darth Sidious to initiate the Clone Wars. His first appearance in a Cartoon series, *The Clone Wars*, reveals more information on his past and plans.
The Jedi Order, initially unaware of Sifo-Dyas' actions, later discovered his involvement in the clone army's creation. This raised questions about the Jedi's role in the events that led to the Republic's downfall.
